Whitby Goth Weekend is back for another Halloween Special – further details to follow.

Twice-yearly event held in April and October which has grown into one of the most popular gothic events in the world, attracting all generations from across the UK and around the world.

 

If you’re a dedicated Goth or just a dedicated Goth watcher it’s time you got yourself into old Whitby town!

 

The Gothic extravaganza starts today Wednesday, 28 October and goes over the weekend right into next week. If you’ve never been in Whitby and witness the spectacular of the costumes that can be admired you really miss something. 

This is an itinerary of events that will take place during the week
FRIDAY
9am – 6pm Goth Bring & Buy at The Resolution, Flowergate. A temporary home for WGW Bring & Buy on this occasion. Running on Friday and Sunday only.

10am – 5pm Bizarre Bazaar at Whitby Pavilion, Whitby Rifle Club, The Met and Whitby Leisure Centre. More than 120 stalls spread across four venues.

10am – 6pm Wristband Exchange – Whitby Pavilion Foyer. Exchange your ticket. A 50p donation per customer to Whitby Dog Rescue is greatly appreciated.

11am Prompt WGW Virgins Meet – Main Hall, Whitby Pavilion. Never been to WGW before? Get a handy map and loads of top tips from WGW veteran Loki.

2.30pm – 4.30pm Live Bats at Whitby Pavilion Foyer. With Bat Conservation Trust Education Officer Shirley Thompson.

7pm onwards Acoustic Night at The Coliseum

Featuring Faith & The Muse and HED. First Band 8pm. Curfew 10.30pm. Limited Capacity.

7.30pm onwards Dead Funny Comedy Club at Whitby Rifle Club. Featuring The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre, Barry Dodds & Leigh Jones.

7.30pm onwards Carnival Macabre at Whitby Pavilion Theatre. Fourteen acts including magic, burlesque, fire, intrigue and danger plus competitions and prizes.

7.30pm – 4am Whitby Pavilion main event – first band 8pm, then onstage hourly. The Eden House, Zombina & The Skeletones, Grooving in Green.

8pm – 3am Darklands upstairs at the Resolution Hotel, Flowergate. DJs Batastrophe, De ‘Ath, Grimly Fiendish plus guest Deadguy

8pm till late – Nights of Trad Part I at Whitby Rugby Club.

SATURDAY

9am – 3pm Whitby Custom Car Show, West Cliff Primary School. Pre 1975 Kustom & Classic Cars.

10am – 5pm Bizarre Bazaar at Whitby Leisure Centre, Whitby Rifle Club, Whitby Pavilion and The Met. More than 120 stalls spread across four venues.

2pm onwards Forum Meet Up (incorporating Singles Meet), Whitby Pavilion theatre bar.

2pm onwards Hallowe’en Dog Show, £1 entry per class.

2.45pm Pool Competition, The Met, West Cliff. All Welcome. Free Entry.

2.30pm – 4.30pm Live Bats at Whitby Pavilion foyer. With Bat Conservation Trust Education Officer Shirley Thompson.

7pm onwards Horror Punk Night at Whitby Coliseum. 

 

 

30pm onwards Carnival Macabre at Whitby Pavilion Theatre. Fourteen acts including magic, burlesque, fire, intrigue and danger plus competitons and prizes.
7.30pm onwards Dead Funny Comedy Club at The Rifle Cl

ub. Featuring Duncan Oakley, Chris Brooker & Chris Tavner.
7.30pm – 4am Whitby Pavilion Main Event. Faith & The Muse, Adoration, Rhombus.
7.30pm onwards Dark Daisy Monster Bash at The Shambles pub.

8pm onwards Halloween alternative at The Resolution, Flowergate. Djs Migsy and Legion (darkside) (upstairs).

8pm until late Nights of Trad Part II at Whitby Rugby Club.

8pm to 2am Dark Daisy Hallowe’en Costume Ball at The Met.

SUNDAY

10am – 4pm Bizarre Bazaar. Whitby Leisure Centre, Whitby Pavilion, The Met, Whitby Rifle Club.

10.30am onwards Whitby Dog Rescue Hallowe’en sponsored walk along the beach. Meet at Mission to Seamen in Haggersgate to register at 10.30am, walk starts at 11am.

Noon onwards WGW Facebook Meet Up. Meet outside Shambles pub in Market Square, then off to the footie!

2pm – 4pm Whitby Bookshop. Alan Lawson signing copies of Emilie Undead.

2pm onwards Real Gothic vs. Whitby Gazette Football Match, Whitby Town Football Club. Small Admission fee, raffle and collection held in aid of The Willow Foundation and The Salvation Army Christmas Fund.

2pm Goth Dog Walk Meet at bandstand in Pier Road. All welcome – even if you don’t have a dog.

7pm – Midnight ’80s Night at Laughtons, Baxtergate. Legendary ’80s night.

8pm – 1am Sexy Sunday at The Met. Profits to Labrador Welfare and Cats Protection.

8pm –12.30am Under the Gun ’80s/Goth Night at Whitby Rifle Club.

9pm – 3am Nostalgia at Raw Nightclub. Trad Goth and alternative ’80s night. Dark dress code.

MONDAY

8pm – 1am Manic Monday at the Met. Fancy Dress Theme – Cowboys & Indians

 

 

This should bring to the end and a spectacular Gothic extravaganza of events which have been enjoyed by people of all ages Goths are just Goths and admirers :-)
