Whitby Regatta 2000 and now looks to be a big success

Literally thousands of holidaymakers turned out on a beautiful sunny day to celebrate the 169th Whitby Regatta. 

Many of the local businesses depend largely on this particular event to pull in much-needed revenue, and it is a great help if the weather is good producing large crowds. 

 http://www.whitby.uk.net are happy to report that on the first day of the regatta the town was packed to the rafters.
 There was a gymnastic display by the Jumping Kangaroos was one of the highlights alongside a Battle of Britain fly-past.
 There may have been before but they always a big pull The Red Arrows are scheduled for 2 PM on 24 August which is the date of this report. 

The carnival is set up and later tonight there will be the stunning firework display.
